PlaceMKR is led by entrepreneurial real estate principals with over 25 years of experience in multiple facets of commercial real estate development, investment, brokerage and management services. The collective core competencies of the team allow PlaceMKR to identify, conceptualize, and execute projects with the unique combination of diligence and speed needed to compete in the most sought after commercial real estate markets.


CHRISTOPHER CORTESE - Managing Principal

Christopher Cortese cofounded PlaceMKR in 2018 where he serves as an operating, investment and development partner. His primary responsibilities at PlaceMKR are capital management, property management and driving operational efficiencies.

Additionally, he is the owner of a property management and services firm and is a commercial real estate advisor. Over his career, Mr. Cortese has been involved in more than 3 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and multifamily commercial real estate transactions nationally and has managed more than 5 million square feet of commercial and residential assets.

Mr. Cortese was recipient of the Fairfield County Business Journal’s ”40 Under 40 Award”, won NAIOP’s Deal of the Year Award in 2017 and received designations as both “top producer” and “rising star” at Newmark Knight Frank.

Upon returning from Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ, his philanthropic life began. He dedicates a significant amount of time to passions around his hometown of Greenwich, Connecticut. He was named Volunteer of the Year by the Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Founded and Co-Chaired the Greenwich Young Professionals Group, sits on the board of directors at the Greenwich YMCA, created and Co-Chaired the YMCA Dodgeball Tournament and serves as a Committee Member for Kids in Crisis’s KIC IT Triathlon.

Mr. Cortese currently resides in Darien, Connecticut with his wife and two daughters.

JESSE WEBER - Managing Principal

Jesse Weber currently serves as an operating real estate partner at PlaceMKR and is also a nationally recognized, award-winning real estate advisor. Mr. Weber’s expertise is in sourcing and executing significant commercial real estate transactions on a global basis. He has been involved in the development, sales and leasing of over 5 million square feet of office, industrial, medical and retail transactions with a total deal volume in excess of $1.5 Billion.

Mr. Weber’s development and investment career has been focused on the path of progress with the goal of building communities. He was instrumental in securing PlaceMKR’s initial Opportunity Zone development project at 1141 Shady Lane in Austin, TX, which was the first ground-up OZ office development in the City of Austin. His primary responsibilities at PlaceMKR are deal sourcing, structuring finance and working hand-in-hand with design and construction teams to yield highest and best returns. Under his leadership, PlaceMKR has completed or is in development on six separate projects in the Austin MSA since 2018.

Mr. Weber received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from University of Connecticut. His passions are in education and entrepreneurship, as he serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement and teaches entrepreneurship classes to high school students. In addition, he is heavily involved in the PropTech industry as both an investor and advisor. He is passionate about leveraging the finest technologies for all of his real estate holdings.
