PlaceMKR Announces the Hiring of Joseph Pera as Associate

PlaceMKR is pleased to announce the hiring of Joseph Pera as Associate, based in Austin, TX. “What drew me to PlaceMKR is how the team looks at a potential acquisition. It’s not just about what a site/building is today, but what value can we create and bring to the deal."

Joe brings a commercial real estate development background with experience across industrial, retail, self-storage, senior housing, multifamily, and land. Most recently, he spearheaded a ground-up shallow-bay flex industrial development portfolio throughout Texas. He also worked on a 50-acre mixed-use development in Melissa, Texas, home to Kroger, Starbucks, McDonald’s, and many other national tenants, as well as a 300-acre industrial park in Midland, Texas, where the team has executed 27 build-to-suits. Over his career, he has led the closing process on more than $300M of transactions across retail, land, senior housing, self-storage, and industrial assets.

Joe moved from California to Texas because of its growth. “Texas is where the opportunity is. The population and business growth here are creating demand across every asset class, and I wanted to be part of building that.” He recently put that belief into practice personally, acquiring his first investment property, a duplex in Austin’s 78704 zip code.
